【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingthewatercontentofliquidhydrocarbons(naphtha,gasoline,kerosene,diesel),orotherpetroleumproducts(sulfolaneandothersolvents)thatareliquidatroomtemperatureusingcoulometricKarlFishertitration.Thelowerlimitofquantitationforthetitratoris10礸ofwater.Thisresultsinanapplicableconcentrationrangeforasampleof10mg/kg(massppm)to2mass-%water.Heavyhydrocarbons(insolubleoilsandwaxes)andotherhydrocarbonsthatareviscousorsolidatroomtemperaturecanbeaccommodatedusingavaporizerfordeterminingdissolvedtracewaterandisapplicabletosamplesoveraconcentrationrangeof20mg/kgto2mass-%water.Samplescontaininglessthan500mg/kgofwatercanbecollectedinprepareddrybottlesorsyringesasdescribedintheAppendix.OtherapplicationsformoistureandcommoninterferencesarediscussedinNotes1and2.
